There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. Sept. 22 at First Presbyterian Church, Bellevue The Rev. Dr. Marsha M. Wilfong will be officiating. Burial will be in Crystal Township Cemetery, Tama County. Kingery Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangements.
AMARILLO, Texas — Wesley Beecher, 84, of Amarillo and formerly of Bellevue, died Friday at the Veterans Hospital, Amarillo.
He was born Sept. 13, 1921, in Dinsdale to Merrill E. and Alvina Chizek Beecher. He married Phyllis Ploen. She died in 2005.
He served in the U.S. Navy and World War II.
He was an Iowa conservation officer with Jackson County from 1961 to 1983 and retired after 27 years of service.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Beecher of Hoschton, Ga.; one son, Richard (Terry) Beecher of Amarillo; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Richard (Mary) Beecher of Traer.
