Mary Ann Unangst

HANOVER, Ill. — Mary Ann Unangst, 70, of Freeport, Ill., and formerly of Hanover, died Monday at Swedish American Hospital, Rockford.

She was born Oct. 3, 1935, to Frank S. and Evelyn C. Walsh Jagielski in Savanna. She married Clifford Unangst on April 28, 1956. He died in 1986.

She graduated from Hanover High School in 1953.

She was a homemaker. She worked for eight years at the Hanover Public Library. In 1989, she moved to Freeport to live with family and worked with the Freeport School District.

Survivors include one daughter, Cindy (Russ) Townsend of Freeport; one son, Mark (Mary J.) Unangst of St. Louis; four grandchildren; one sister, Joan Hunt of Hanover; one brother-in-law, Keith (Peggy) Unangst of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in her name to the donor’s favorite charity.
