Geraldine M. “Gerry” Keel

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Preston, with the Rev. Don Plamondon officiating.

MILES — Geraldine M. “Gerry” Keel, 82, of Miles, died Monday at Bluff Terrace Nursing Facility, Clinton.

Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Cemetery, Clinton.

She was born July 12, 1924, in Clinton to Lester and Mary Barnoski Losey. She married Wayne D. Keel on June 14, 1948, in Clinton.

She graduated from high school in Worthington and later attended Mount St. Clare College.

She worked in the personnel office at the Savanna (Ill.) Army Depot for 27 years before retiring in 1984.

She was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Preston. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Miles, and was active in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Thomas (Connie) Keel of Coralville and James Keel of Santa Fe, N.M.; one daughter, Anne (James) Jochum of Bettendorf; one brother, Maurice Losey of Clinton; two sisters, Katherine “Mary” Kirsch of Dyersville and Sister Joan Losey of Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A general memorial fund has been established in her name.
