SERVICES: 1 p.m. Saturday at Pine Grove Cemetery. Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

CLINTON — Howard Hanley, 80, of Clinton, died Wednesday at the Veterans Administration Nursing Facility, Marshalltown.

He was born July 16, 1926, in Fairplay, Mich. He married Virginia Thompson in 1972 in Mount Carroll, Ill.

He was in World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was employed with Jetter Hauling for many years.

Survivors include one son, Edward Hanley of Davenport; and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two wives, one son and one stepdaughter.

Death date: Aug. 30, 2006
