Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m Thursday at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Davies, pastor of Hope United Methodist Church in Chadwick, officiating.

MOUNT CARROLL, Ill. — Herbert Blendon “Herb” Law, 68, of Mount Carroll, died Monday at his home.

Burial will be in Oakville Cemetery, Mount Carroll.

He was born April 8, 1938, to Blendon W. and Thelma A. Toepfer Law in Freeport, Ill. He married Janice C. Rahn on June 3, 1962, in Chadwick, Ill.

He graduated from Mount Carroll High School in 1956.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960.

He farmed and raised purebred angus near Mount Carroll for many years. He also owned and operated a Ford dealership in Savanna, Ill., from 1978 to 1981.

He was a member of Mount Carroll United Methodist Church, PCA board, past president of the Lions Club, past member of the Carroll County Board and a member of the Livestock Feeders Association.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Nadine (Roger) Renfro of Vancouver, Wash., Christine (Tom) Sears of Geneseo, Ill., and Colline (Matt) Gusse of Dixon, Ill.; his mother, Thelma McCall of Savanna; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert (Ginger) Law of Mount Carroll and Gerald Law of Springfield, Ill.

A memorial fund has been established.
