Raymond R. Lange

Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. today at Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron.

SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

PORT BYRON, Ill. — Raymond R. Lange, 64, of Port Byron, died Friday at the Pathway Hospice Unit at Trinity at Terrace Park, Bettendorf.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Port Byron.

He was born March 22, 1942, in Clinton to Robert and Loretta Cherry Lange. He married Betty Butterfield on Oct. 15, 1960, in Clinton.

He was employed with John Deere Plow Planter and then retired from John Deere Davenport Works in 1996 after 30 years of service.

He served on the URICRA board and was a certified umpire for them. He was a member of the UAW.

Survivors include his wife; sons, John (Diane) Lange of Davenport, Troy (Brenda) Lange of Port Byron and Randy (Terrie Wood) Lange of Hillsdale, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Cheryl Smith.

Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, two grandchildren and one brother.

Death date: Aug. 11, 2006
