CLINTON — Francis M. Rowan, 86, of Clinton, died Thursday at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton.
She was born Feb. 24, 1920, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Samuel E. and Rennie Howell Prentiss. She married Dale Rowan on Nov. 24, 1946, in Long Beach, Calif. He died in 1982.
She graduated from high school in San Antonio. She also attended college for business.
She was self employed with Big River Marine, Clinton. She also worked with Bitler Marine, John Wagner Marine, Morris Plan and the Clinton Credit Bureau.
She taught Sunday school and served on the church board.
Survivors include one son, Michael R. Rowan of Garland, Texas; one daughter, Karen (Jerry) Dierks of Clinton; one stepson, Gary Rowan of Gilroy, Calif.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lester Prentiss of Mexia, Texas.
Memorials may be made to Lyons United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, two brothers and three sisters.
