Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. today at Schultz Funeral Home, Dewitt.

SERVICES: Service of Christian Burial is at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, DeWitt. The Rev. Pete Hagglund will be officiating.

DEWITT — Gladys Ibsen, 96, of DeWitt, died Sunday at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Pallbearers will be Curt Rullestad, Greg Gannon, Chris Hansen, Lynn Bishop, Leah Washmon, Brenda Gannon, Beth Hansen, Ellyn and Rick Sipp, Mark and Jeannine Gannon, Harry Leonard, Ray Bishop, Dick Washmon and Cathy Gannon.

She was born April 13, 1910, near Lost Nation to August and Clara Rutenbeck Schepers. She married Elmer Ibsen on Feb. 15, 1933, in Rock Island, Ill.

She spent her early years in the Lost Nation area.

She and her husband farmed in the Lost Nation area before moving to Bliedorn in 1944 where they farmed until they retired to DeWitt in 1967. He died in 1990.

She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, DeWitt. She was a member of the OAO Card Club for more than 60 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Eleanor (Frank) Rullestad of West Des Moines, Marlene (Gordon) Berst of DeWitt and Judy (Tom) Gannon of DeWitt; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials be made to Westwing Place or Amber Ridge Assisted Living.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers.
