Kenneth C. Kellogg

Kenneth C. Kellogg, age 94 of Miles, Iowa, died in Clinton, Iowa, on Monday, July 31, 2006. At his request, there will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in the Miles Cemetery at a later date.

Kenneth was born November 10, 1911, in Miles, Iowa, the son of Clyde and Lulu (Stewart) Kellogg. He was never married. Kenneth graduated in 1929 from the Miles Consolidated School. He later attended Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa. Kenneth also went to the Worsham College of Embalming in Chicago, Illinois. He was a licensed embalmer.

Kenneth served several years as a Miles Iowa Official, holding the positions of Treasurer, Mayor, and Clerk. As Mayor, Kenneth was the number one advocate of the Miles Sewer System, seeing it to its completion in 1968. He also served on the Miles School Board and as a director of the Miles Telephone Company. Kenneth was a fifty-year member of the Miles Masonic Lodge and later of the Bellevue Masonic Order. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Area from 1942-1945.

Kenneth is survived by his longtime companion, Carol Nagel, with whom he shared his home with for over twenty years. He is also survived by two nieces, Jeanette (David) Shannon of Newton, Iowa, and Margaret (Jim) Ludington of Altoona, Iowa.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Geneva Marsh.
