Visitation: 3 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.
SERVICES: 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
LOW MOOR — Helen Viola Hodge, 93, of Low Moor, died Monday at her home.
Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche.
She was born Dec. 14, 1912, in Middletown to Henry Clay Dean and Maggie Myrtle Walker. She married Lloyd Lee Hodge on Aug. 31, 1942, in Milan, Mo. He died in 1991.
She worked with a local doctor as a midwife and home nurse. She also did housekeeping for various farms.
The couple lived in various states including Camden, Ark., and Pickstown, S.D. In 1958, she and her husband moved to Bettendorf. She held backyard Bible clubs once a week. They later moved to Low Moor.
She was a member of LeClaire Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Gertrude Gibson of Burlington and Jane (Richard) Lehnert of Mediapolis; two daughters, Lloya (Eugene) Lehnert of Fort Collins, Colo., and Polly York of Low Moor; three sons, Mark (Jean) Hodge of Lancaster, Calif., Lyle (Deborah) Hodge of Duncanville, Texas, and Wayne (Susan) Hodge of LeClaire; 12 grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, eight brothers and two children.
