Maxie Faye Ipsen,91, of 5465 Sand Rd., formerly of Route 4, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 1994, in Iowa City Care Center after a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hills, by the Rev. Peter Cross. Burial: St. Stanislaus Cemetery, rural Hills. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Donohue-Lensing Funeral Home, where a vigil service begins at 7 p.m. Survivors include a son, David of Iowa City; a daughter, Mary Shaw of San Diego; six sisters, Rita Painter of Limestone, Tenn., Lucille Chapman of Erwin, Tenn., Grace Rowe of Kingsport, Tenn., Dorothy Shirfey cq of Sulphur Springs, Tenn., and Mary Wampler and Eva Rowen, both of Johnson City, Tenn.; and four brothers, Beryl Hyder of Elizabethton, Tenn., Harry Hyder of Black Mountain, N.C., Rex Hyder of Morristown, Tenn., and Darryl Hyder of Kingsport, Tenn. Also surviving are four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister, June Hyder. Born May 12, 1903, in Limestone, Tenn., a daughter of W.J. and Mary Williams Hyder, she married John Ipsen in 1936, in Iowa City. He died in 1964. A memorial fund has been established. Mildred Clare Schneider,83, formerly of 505 E. Jefferson St., died Sunday, Jan. 1, 1995, in Greenwood Manor Convalescent Center after a short illness. Arrangements are pending at Donohue-Lensing Funeral Home.
