The Clinton Herald Monday July 10, 1950 p. 8 Emil Eggers, 57, 2413 North Third street, died about 3 a.m. Sunday in Hines Veterans hospital, Hines, Ill. He had been ill for a year and a patient at Hines for a month. The body is in the Shadduck funeral home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. John's Lutheran church with the Rev. Paul Burgdorf officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery. Mr. Eggers was born March 17, 1893, in Andover, the son of Jurgen and Catherine Eggers. He was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran church. A veteran of World War I, he married Dora Asmussen Nov. 24, 1919, and they lived in Rockford, Ill., for nine years. Twenty years ago they moved to Clinton and Mr. Eggers was employed by Clinton Foods, Inc. for 16 years. He was a member of Post 1, Ex-Servicemen's association. Surviving are his wife; a son, Gerald, Davenport; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Kuneau, Miles, and Miss Emma Eggers, Clinton; a brother, Jerry, Clinton; a granddaughter, and nieces and nephews. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
