SERVICES: 10 a.m. Mass Saturday at Ss. John and Catherine Catholic Church, Mount Carroll. Law-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
CHADWICK, Ill. — Bettie Manning, 82, of Chadwick, died Thursday at her home.
Cremation rites will take place. Inurnment will be in Chadwick Cemetery.
She was born Feb. 14, 1924, in Los Angeles to Earl and Elizabeth Meurer Nelson. After her parents died, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Clay and Laura Schaefer. She married Edward Manning Sr. on Nov. 13, 1943, in Monterey Park, Calif.
She was a member of Ss. John and Catherine Catholic Church, Mount Carroll, Ill.
She worked with the Chadwick Cheese Factory and Elkay Manufacturing, Lanark, Ill.
Survivors include one daughter, Janet (Neal) Queckboerner of Chadwick; one grandchild; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
