Visitation: 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mount Carroll Church of God.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating.

MOUNT CARROLL, Ill. — Rudolph Lenkeit, 80, of Mount Carroll, died Wednesday at his home.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mount Carroll.

He was born March 13, 1926, to Christopher and Gertrud Genutt in Heydekrug, East Prussia. He married Berta Berktold on Oct. 10, 1953, in Germany.

He was a carpenter. He built the Mount Carroll Motel in 1978 and operated it for 11 years.

He was a 50-year member of the Carpenters Union. He was a member of the Mount Carroll Church of God. He did missionary work in Central and South America building orphanages.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Peter (Annette) Lenkeit of St. Charles, Ill.; two daughters, Sonja (Jeffrey) Vosecek of Oswego, Ill., and Christina (Robert) Gulley of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army in his name.
