SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Presbyterian Church, Miles, with the Rev. Bill Warhover officiating.
MILES — George T. Shannon, 78, of Miles, died Tuesday at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton.
Burial will be in Miles Cemetery.
He was born April 28, 1928, in Racine, Wis., to Earl T. and Clara B. Lauer Shannon. He married Barbara J. Gray on March 5, 1953, in Bellevue. She died in 1994. He then married Elaine P. McCormack on June 21, 1995, in Clinton.
He graduated from Racine High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He farmed in Miles.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Curt (Deb) Shannon and Todd (Renee) Shannon, both of Miles; one daughter, Coralie (Jim) Beck of Sabula; one sister, Peggy Shafer of Racine; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
