Dr. Harry J. Forrest

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

CLINTON — Dr. Harry J. Forrest, 83, of Clinton, died Sunday at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Forrest, Mark Baldwin, David Littrell, Kelley Gipple and Mike Forrest.

He was born Feb. 16, 1923, in Moberly, Mo., to Wallace and Nell Hutton Forrest. He married Doris Jebson in September 1947 in Clinton.

He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1954 with a degree in veterinary medicine.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He served with the U.S. Army Medical Corps at Schick Hospital, Clinton, and in European and Pacific theaters.

After graduation, he returned to Clinton where he practiced veterinary medicine, treating both large and small animals, for more than 44 years.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Veterinarian Medical Society.

Survivors include his wife; one son, John Forrest of Clinton; one daughter, Mrs. Susan (Mark) Baldwin of Des Moines; two grandchildren; one brother, Charley Forrest in Troy, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.
