Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today at Lahey Funeral Home, Wyoming.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Shepherd Karmen Jamison and the Rev. Linda Stransky officiating.

WYOMING, Iowa — Helen D. Nielsen, 93, of Wyoming, died Saturday at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike Buser, Jim Tindal, Christopher Jess and Joshua, Jacob and Sean Nielsen.

She was born July 4, 1912, in Jones County to Bahne and Dora Petersen Hartman. She married Louis Christian Nielsen on Jan. 17, 1932, in Galena, Ill. He died in 1985.

She graduated from West High School in 1930.

She was a cook at Camp Wyoming, Congregate Meals and Little Bear. In her earlier years, she was a nanny.

She attended Wyoming United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Richard) Gutknecht of Cedar Falls and Lois (Karl) Jess of Anamosa; two sons, Richard (Karla) Nielsen of Tampa, Fla., and Warren (Marcia) Nielsen of Maxwell; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Van Gundy of Lake Wales, Fla; one sister-in-law, Sybil Hartman of Wyoming; and nieces and nephews.
