Visitation: Monday at U.C. Davis and Sons Funeral Home, Morris.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church, Morris, with the Rev. Tom Ostrander officiating.

MORRIS, Ill. — Roger L. Eslinger, 62, of Morris, died Friday.

Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Morris Color Guard.

He was born Nov. 6, 1943, in Morrison, Ill., to Calvin and Arlene Eslinger. He married Joan Broderick on Oct. 8, 1971, at First United Methodist Church, Morris.

He was educated in Thomson (Ill.) schools.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966. He was discharged as a staff sergeant.

He moved to Morris in 1969.

He was employed with Equistar/Lyondell for 33 years and retired in 2001. After retiring, he was a driver and delivery man with Turf Team Landscape Co.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Morris, and Happy Hill Aerie 1024 Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Morris.

Survivors include his wife, Joan; one daughter, Mrs. Tracy (Steve) Eslinger-Smith of Morris; two sons, Eric (Amy) Eslinger of Bartlett, Ill.; and Christopher Eslinger of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren; his mother, Arlene Eslinger of Thomson, Ill.; one brother, Dale (Diane) Esligner of Minooka; two sisters, Mrs. Marla (Alan) Hickey and Mrs. Kathy (Floyd) Griffy of Thomson; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be made to Joliet (Ill.) Area Community Hospice.

He was preceded in death by his father.
