Levert Lee Sinksen

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Clinton Chapel of the Snell-Zornig Funeral Home.

SERVICES: Private graveside services Wednesday with the Rev. John Stack officiating.

CLINTON — Levert Lee Sinksen, 92, of Clinton, died Sunday at Mercy North Hospital.

He was born Feb. 28, 1914, in Clinton to Thomas and Dorothy Douglas Sinksen. He married Velma Turkas on Jan. 12, 1936, in Clinton. She died in 1981.

He was a carpenter and worked with various construction firms including Ringland-Johnson in Clinton for 25 years before retiring as a construction superintendent.

He was a former member of the Izaak Walton League, Moose Club and a member of the Clinton Local Carpenters Union.

Survivors include one son, Dennis (Sue) Sinksen of Macon, Ga.; two daughters, Mrs. Marlene (Bill) Thoms of Greenwood, Mo., and Mrs. Margaret (David) Pottratz of Clinton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Isabel Varney of Clinton; one sister-in-law, Dottie Sinksen of Corinth, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Clinton Humane Society.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers.
