Visitation: 2 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. The Rev. Garland Gotoski and Landon Becker, DCE, will be officiating.

DEWITT — Everett E. Rogers, 93, of DeWitt, died Wednesday at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Pallbearers will be Brian, Christopher and Jamie Green, Jamie Lippens, Doug McKnight and Harlan Rogers.

He was born April 13, 1912, in Cisne, Ill., to F.E. and Corda Sparr Rogers. He married Sylvia Peters on Oct. 3, 1939, in Clinton.

He worked with The Iowana Dairies, Bettendorf, as an ice cream maker.

He and his wife moved east of Welton in 1942 and in 1950 bought an uncle’s farm west of Welton. They farmed there until retiring in 1968. He was then Clinton County road maintenance supervisor until retiring in 1978. He was one of the original founders and charter directors of First Central State Bank, DeWitt. He was an active director until 2002.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt, and DeWitt Noon Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Barb (Chuck) Green of DeWitt; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Jones of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews. Condolences may be made online at www.schultzfuneralhom.com.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two sisters and one brother.
