Visitation: There will be no visitation.

SERVICES: 7 p.m. Saturday at Union Presbyterian Church, Lost Nation. The Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa, is in charge of arrangements.

MAQUOKETA — Kitty Viola Yanda, 57, of Maquoketa, died Tuesday at Trinity Terrace Park, Bettendorf.

Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery, Tusumbeh, Mo., at a later date.

She was born Feb. 22, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo., to Elmer W. and Lula J. Kesterson Bias. She married Joel Yanda on Sept. 15, 1993, in Las Vegas.

She did clerical work for various businesses with the longest being the Kansas City Power and Light Co. for 10 years.

She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, Lost Nation, and the Audubon Society.

Survivors include her husband; children, Wesley Romans of Leeton, Mo., Robert Johnson of Kansas City, Kan., Nicole Yanda of Houston, Mrs. Lindsey (Michael) Tucker of Fort Riley, Kan., and Steven Yanda of Milwaukee; seven grandchildren; one brother, Doug (Cathy) Bias of Tonganoxie, Kan.; sisters, Mrs. Karrie (Chris) Caruthers of Pleasanton, Kan., Natia Bias of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Lois “Vonnie” (Chris) Ruis of Kansas City and Connie Smith of Fort Worth, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Kitty Viola Yanda Memorial Fund has been established.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
