May 18, 1938 - March 20, 2006

South Glens Falls — Warren R. Burnham Jr., 68, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2006, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on March 18, 1938, in Westborough, Mass., he was the son of Warren R. and Vera (Dodge) Burnham Sr. He married Eileen Jensen on February 26, 2004.

Warren’s lifelong career as a mechanical engineer led to the development of seven patents. He was the owner/operator of Burnham Polymeric, Inc. in South Glens Falls. He was very proud of his most recent accomplishment, which was the invention and supply of fiber optic cable for last year’s final descent to the Titanic for historic research. He patented processes for reinforced medical tubing, which led him to the development of the fiber optic cable for the Department of Defense.

He belonged to the Gettysburg Discussion Group and enjoyed reading any literature pertaining to the Civil War. He loved collecting cast iron kitchen implements, coins and railroad memorabilia. He enjoyed gardening with his wife and met many other special friends through a gardening club.

The highlight of each fall started with the Adirondack Balloon Festival, foliage trips through New England and the start of the hockey season. He was a great supporter of the community including the Adirondack Balloon Festival and the local Frostbite Hockey team. He was kind and generous to a fault and his happiness was found in helping and doing things for others.

He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and associates including his feline friends, Perot and Dinky. Warren was predeceased by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Jensen-Burnham of South Glens Falls; his children, Randy Burnham and his wife, Rachel Sams, of Greenfield Center, Antoinette Burnham and her husband, Samuel Visner, of Washington, D.C., Alicia Thompson and her husband, John, of Laurel, Md., Roy Burnham and his wife, Andrea, of Columbus, Ohio and Christopher Frame of DeWitt, Ia; his sisters, Sarah Benjamin of Mount Vernon, N.H. and Ruth Burnham of Lewisburg, Pa.; sisters-in-law, Carol (Larry) Frees, Emily (Gary) Krambeck and Patricia King all of Wheatland, IA and grandchildren, Jacqueline, Owen, Trent and Katherine; numerous nieces and nephews and great- nieces and nephews in Iowa and Heather Moore, his extended family.

A memorial service will be celebrated from 3 to 6 p.m., on Friday, March 31, 2006, at the Queensbury Hotel, Ridge Street, Glens Falls.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls.
