WHEATLAND — Margaret E. Mess, 76, of Wheatland, died Monday at Crestridge Inc., Maquoketa.
She was born May 18, 1929, in Wayland to Peter Rich and Margaret Wolby. She married LeRoy Mess on June 7,1952, in Davenport. He died in 1990.
Burial will be in the Massillon Cemetery.
She was a 1948 graduate of Wheatland High School.
She worked as a waitress. She also worked with the International Paper Co.
Survivors include one son, Rex (Lana) of Toronto; two stepgrandchildren; and one brother, Everett Rich of Wheatland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and six brothers.
