Sadie Mae Hoffman

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt.

SERVICES: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. The Rev. Garland Gotoski and Landon Becker, DCE, will be officiating.

DEWITT — Sadie Mae Hoffman, 70, of DeWitt, died Saturday at Wheatland Manor.

Interment will be in Oakview Cemetery, Welton.

Pallbearers will be Steve Seifert, Dean Youngers, Kevin Broadfoot, Brian Elias, Marty and Michael Jahn and Jerry Rowden.

She was born Dec. 17, 1935, in Maquoketa to John Henry and Helen Bernice Hovey Schrader. She married Donald Gene Hoffman on Sept. 29, 1957, at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. He died in 1994.

She graduated from Welton High School in 1953.

In her early years, she worked in the filing department at Iowa Mutual Insurance. She also worked for many years in the bakery at Barnes Foodland, DeWitt.

She was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt.

Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Scott Hoffman; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy (Richard) Broadfoot of DeWitt and Mrs. Madonna (Paul) Reimers of Calamus; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, parents and one brother.
