Lisa Marie Downie

YANKTON, S.D. — Lisa Marie Downie, 40, of Yankton, died Monday in Pierce County, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Yankton Middle School Theatre with the Rev. Oliver Omanson officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Yankton. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Wintz and Ray Funeral Home, Yankton, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the funeral at the school.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Bame, Shane Harriman, Shaun Feilmeier, Dana Gebel, Jesse and Jake Jensen and Emmanuel Youth Group.

She was born Dec. 25, 1965, in Clinton to Richard and Mary Hetrick Holmes. She grew up in Clinton until the family moved to Norfolk, Neb., in 1980. She married Craig Downie on Feb. 23, 2001, at the Argo Hotel, Crofton, Neb.

She graduated from Norfolk High School in 1984. She then attended Northeast Technical Community College, Norfolk, while working at Kmart. She also attended Mount Marty College, Yankton.

She and her family moved to Yankton in 1996.

She was employed with Cedar Village.

She was active at Emmanuel Evangelical Church, the church’s youth group and taught Vacation Bible School.

Survivors include her husband; children, Austin Ernesti of Baghdad, Iraq, Lonie Ernesti and Adam Ernesti, both of Yankton, Joshua (Kathie) Downie of Norfolk, Justin (Miyuki) Downie of China Lake, Calif., and Jacob Downie of Norfolk; two grandchildren; her parents, Arvid “Shorty” Larsen of Norfolk and Richard (Diane) Holmes of Perry; two brothers, Danny (Renee) Holmes of Clinton and Eugene (Deanna) Klabenes of Kingman, Ariz.; three sisters, Debbie Steele of Maxwell, Kelly Schramm Holmes of Norfolk and Missy Smalley Holmes of Yankton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded death by her grandparents and mother.
