Loran A. Leeper

Loran A. Leeper, 69, of LeClaire, died Saturday in Clinton.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Reformed Church, Fulton, Ill., with the Rev. Bruce Wilterdink, interim pastor of Trinity Reformed Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Fulton Township Cemetery with military rites accorded by the U.S. Air Force. There will be a 10:15 a.m. family prayer service at the church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Hodges, Henry Merrill, Kenny Fanderclai, Dick Bland, Roger Gammon and Jess McGilvrey.

He was born May 21, 1936, in Mountain Grove, Mo., to Frank and Edith Sigmon Leeper. He married Elaine J. Borgman on Nov. 24, 1962, in Fulton.

He attended Calamus-Wheatland area schools and was a 1954 graduate of Clinton High School.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was employed with the former Clinton Corn Processing for 25 years. He then was employed with General Motors, where he was instrumental in the start-up of the Saturn Division Plant in Spring Hill, Tenn.

He attended Trinity Reformed Church. He was a member of the Clinton Moose Lodge 363 and was a volunteer for the Clinton Police Reserves for 17 years. He was a member of the Tag-A-Long Trailer Club and was an 18-gallon blood donor.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine; three daughters, Sue (Scott) Keegan of Clinton, Cheryl (Jim) Koele of Urbandale and Lori (John) Carter of Sugarland, Texas; one son, Jim Leeper of Grimes; seven grandchildren; one sister, Linda (LeRoy) Lemke of Camanche; and two brothers, William (Shirley) Thomas of Marion, Mass., and Stan (Mary) Leeper of Clinton.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Reformed Church, the American Diabetes Association or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
