Lucille Jensen

Lucille Jensen, age 87 of Clinton, died Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Mercy North Medical Center following her battle with lung cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday 10:30 AM at Prince of Peace Parish-Sacred Heart Church. Visitation will be Wednesday 4-8 PM at the Pape Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. Burial will be at St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be six of her grandsons, Andrew, Nicholas, and Timothy Jensen, Bobby and Eric Scott, and Daniel Trine.

Lucille was born on June 24, 1918 in Dunlap, IA, the daughter of Martin and Elizabeth (Miller) Manion. She graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Dunlap, IA in 1935. She married Maurice Jensen on Oct. 16, 1944 in Phoenix, AZ, he died in 1998. She was a homemaker and longtime member and volunteer for many years at St. Irenaeus Church. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish and the Daughters of the Isabella. Lucille was a life long Democrat who volunteered as an Election Judge for the 4th Ward in Clinton. Lucille enjoyed camping, gardening, and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Lucille is survived by her eight children, Craig (Connie) Jensen of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jay (Patricia) Jensen of La Crescent, MN, Mary (Len Wright) Ortega of Fulton, IL, Mrs. Ann (Rick) Trine of State Center, IA, Mrs. Cathy (Eldon) Arensdorf of Eldridge, IA, Robert Jensen of Coralville, IA, Mrs. Barbara (Robert) Scott of Albia, IA, and Mark (Denise) Jensen of Clinton, IA; 22 grandchildren and five great grandchildren with three pre-born. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, and a brother.
