MOUNT CARROLL, Ill. — Mark A. Simmons, 53, of Mount Carroll, died Wednesday at Morrison Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Frank-Law Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. The Rev. Rick Zickefoose, pastor of Mount Carroll Church of God, will be officiating. Burial will be in Ladies Union Cemetery, Stockton, Ill. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

He was born June 16, 1952, to Floyd E. and Jessie M. Stone Simmons in Freeport, Ill. He married Norma Salzer on Oct. 10, 1980, in Mount Carroll.

He graduated from Lanark (Ill.) High School in 1970.

He worked as a carpenter and auto mechanic.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mychael D. Salzer and Raymond P. McCann, both of Carbondale, Ill.; two brothers, Tom (Luann) Simmons of Verona, Wis., and Leland (Zyanna) Simmons of Platteville, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Irene (John) Marean of Scioto Mills, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
