Robert E. Killean

Robert E. Killean, age 79, of Lorain, died Saturday March 4th, 2006, at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center following an illness of six months. Mr. Killean was born in Clinton, Iowa on November 24, 1926 and had been a resident of Lorain since the early 1950’s.

A World War II veteran of the United States Army, he was employed as an electrician at Ford Motor Company’s Lorain Assembly Plant. He retired in 1992 following a career that spanned twenty-seven years with the auto maker.

Bob was a parishioner of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. he was regarded as a knowledgeable history buff and was also known as a roller coaster enthusiast. Additional interests included gardening, travel, camping, fishing, and small animals with a special fondness for dogs.

Survivors include his son Michael residing in Honduras, daughters Michele Rice of Aurora, Colorado, and Shiela Killean and Jessi Killean both of Lorain, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a half-sister Suzi Carmody of Clinton, Iowa, nieces Rita Mann and Diane Draper both of Camanche, nephews Kevin Killean of Camanche, and Patrick Killean of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou (nee Sadler), by a son Joel, by his parents William and Marjorie (nee Schwedler) Killean, and by brothers Walter and Thomas.
