Apama Louise “Pamie” Paddock

SABULA — Apama Louise “Pamie” Paddock, 84, of Sabula, died Saturday at Mercy North Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula. Burial will be in the Miles City Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Krueger, pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church. The Law-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Oct. 30, 1921, in Green Island to Albert and Ellen Yappen Mangler. She married Marvin R. Paddock on Aug. 16, 1941, in Maquoketa. He died in 1986.

She graduated from Sabula High School in 1940.

She was a homemaker. She worked with the Oxford Speaker Factory, Sabula, for 18 years.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula, and 63-year member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 74 of Sabula where she held several offices and chaired the Poppy Committee for many years. She also was a member of the Sabula Senior Citizens, TOPS and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Survivors include two sons, Darwin (Joan) Paddock of Sabula and Daryl (Cecilia) Paddock of Cincinnati; one daughter, Mrs. Cheryl (Jerry) Parker of Savanna; seven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wayne (Linda) Mangler of Clinton, Lloyd “Nun” (Carolyn) Mangler and Albert “Perg” (Velma) Mangler, both of Sabula; and two sisters, Mrs. Isabelle “Izzy” (Robert) Brundage of Sabula and Mrs. Mary (James) Sandholt of Oskaloosa.

Memorials may be made in her name to Calvary Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, four grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
