IDA M. STERN

MORRISON, Ill. — Ida M. Stern, 97, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, died Thursday at the nursing home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison with the Rev. James Jaeger officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.

She was born Dec. 8, 1908, in Morrison, to Charles J. and Mary K. Bogh Bull. She married Harold A. Stern on May 1, 1930 in Morrison. He died March 6, 1977.

She was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and graduated from Morrison High School

She had lived in and around Morrison, moving to Round Grove, Ill., in 1944; she then moved to Morrison in 1976.

She had been employed by the former Whiteside County Nursing Home and also the former Evening Side Nursing Home in Morrison. She later was employed by Vend-Omack Sales in Morrison until retiring.

She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hopkins Township, rural Sterling, Ill., and the church’s Ladies Aid Society. She had been involved in the Round Grove Grade School PTA.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Slade, Clinton, and Mrs. Carolyn (Dennis) Bramm, Lyndon, Ill.; a son, Harold E. (Joan) Stern, Sun City West, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Mrs. Shirley (Clair) Hesler of Sun City.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one great-grandson; three sisters; five brothers.

Memorials can be made to Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc. and the Alzheimer’s Association.
