Henrietta Ottens

FULTON, Ill. — Henrietta Ottens, 93, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, died Thursday at the nursing home.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity Reformed Church, Fulton, preceded by a 9:45 a.m. family prayer service. The Rev. Bruce Wilterdink, interim pastor of Trinity Reformed Church, will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, Ill.

Pallbearers will be Brian Foster, Darren Foster, Tim Foster, Kris Dorsey, Allen Ottens, Jeff Ottens and Greg Ottens.

She was born July 17, 1912, in Morrison to Thomas and Jennie Buzz Haan. She married John K. Ottens on Feb. 21, 1936 in Morrison. He died June 7, 1964.

She was educated in the rural Morrison area grade schools.

She farmed with her husband in Carroll and Whiteside counties for 30 years. She then moved to Morrison in 1965 where she worked at the Morrison Country Club and later worked for Clinco Coils in Morrison for 13 years.

She moved to Fulton in 1967.

She was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton, where she was a member of the Hannah Mission Society and attended Wednesday Morning Bible Study Group.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Joyce (Phil) Hook of Fulton, Mrs. Elsie (Roland) Foster of Fulton, and Mrs. Bonnie (Phil) Dorsey of Morrison; three sons, Gene (Phyllis) Ottens of Morrison, DuWayne (Sharee) Ottens of Morrison, and Larry (Diane) Ottens of Fulton; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; five stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and four brothers.

Memorials can be made to Trinity Reformed Church or Harbor Crest Nursing Home.

Death Date: March 2, 2006.
