Debra Mooney

CLINTON — Debra Mooney, 48, of DeWitt, died Thursday at Mercy North Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lemke Funeral Homes South Chapel, 2600 Lincoln Way. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel. There will be a 7 p.m. vigil at the funeral home. The Rev. Tony Herold will officiate. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 5, 1957, in Clinton to Orval and Pauline Renkes Leu. She married Steve Mooney on Jan. 23, 1981, in Fortworth, Texas.

She graduated from Clinton High School. She earned her paralegal certification at Marycrest and was certified in Iowa and Illinois.

She was a security guard for Pinkerton International and a dispatcher for the LeClaire Police Department and administrative assistant for McDonald’s. She also owned her own quilting business.

Survivors include husband of DeWitt; a son, Colton at home; stepson, Tom (Karen) Mooney of Clinton; her mother of Clinton; three sisters, Mrs. Marilyn (Ed) Kershner of Clinton, Mrs. Nancy (Tom) Roza of Campbell, Calif., and Mrs. Karen (Harold) Lindgren of Arnold, Mo.; two brothers, James (Pam) Leu of Clinton and John (Allison) Leu of Sabula.

She is preceded in death by her father and a brother.

Memorials can be made to the family.

Death Date: March 2, 2006.
