Bold Robbery

Last evening about 9 o’clock, Mr. A. Stauber was knocked down near his residence on Third Avenue, and robbed of his gold watch and about $50 in money. From what we can learn from the rumors on the street this morning the officers got on track of the robbers and arrested a man at a home on the island, when his companions drew their revolvers on the officers and compelled his release. The fire alarm was then sounded, and a large force proceeded to the island, but the birds had flown. We hear some talk this morning about “Shelling out” the robbers nest with the city cannon. It might be dome with benefit to all honest men.
