DENIS NAVIN, a twelve year old boy, living south of DeWitt, near the Wapsie, was bitten by a rattlesnake while harrowing in the field. The boy was barefooted and the snake seized him in the instep and when he tried to kick the venomous
reptile off, it clung so tightly that its body was whippod up against him like a lash. The boy is recovering from the poisonous impregnation, but has suffered terribly.
