The Clinton Herald Friday August 1, 1997 p. 7 LeRoy Clausen, 709 15th Ave. N.W., Clinton, is celebrating his 90th birthday. An open house will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 10, in St. John's Lutheran Church, 416 Main Ave. Relatives and friends are invited. It is requested that gifts be omitted. He was born Aug. 6, 1907, in Belle Plaine, to George C. and Rosa Ploog Clausen. He married Esther Kromer, Sept. 23, 1934, in Stanwood. He is the father of two children; Mrs. Judith (Merlyn) Vocke of Valparaiso, Ind.; and Alan Clausen of Dillon, Colo. He has five grandchildren. He served in the United States Navy from 1944-1945 and was employed for 20 years with various grocery stores. He also was employed for 29 years with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring as assistant postmaster in 1970.
