The Clinton Herald Saturday August 29, 1998 p. 7 The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in Camanche Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral home and Crematory for Eugene "Gene" C. Rogis, 76, of Camanche. He died Thursday in University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Bill Michaelsen, parish worker with Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe, Alvin, Becky, Carla, Sara and Greg Rogis, Chad and Jane Jensen. He was born May 18, 1922, in Camanche, to Alvin and Vernetta Rittmer Rogis. He married Pauline Lutz, Aug. 26, 1945, in Clinton. He was a 1940 graduate of Clinton High School. He farmed near Grand Mound until 1978, when he moved to Camanche, and drove grain/gasoline trucks for area businesses. He retired in 1990. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Carole (Fred) Jensen of Clinton; four sons, Allan Rogis of DeWitt, James and Kenneth Rogis, both of Clinton, and Brent Rogis of Holland, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn Behr of Camanche; and a brother, Gary Rogis of Clinton. Death date: Aug. 27, 1998
