Wheatland, IA., Feb 12¬—Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Klahn will observe their 54th wedding anniversary quietly at their home here Thursday with a family dinner. Miss Dora Klahn and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Klahn, Junior, Dale and Lois will be present.

Andrew Klahn was born in Moline, Illinois, Jan. 29, 1860. He moved with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Klahn, to a farm one mile south of Toronto, Iowa, on Jan. 27, 1871. He attended the public school at Toronto until 16-years of age. His boyhood days were spent on the farm.

His wife, Miss Emma Bentrott was born in Wheatland, Sept. 15, 1862 and spent her entire life in Wheatland. They were married Feb. 13, 1882, in Wheatland by Jerome Dutton, justice of the peace.

They have lived in this vicinity for 65 years. Mr. Klahn worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad company for over 37 years, 26 years of which he had charge of the section crew of Wheatland. From this position he was placed on the company’s pension roll, Jun 1, 1927.

They are the parents of six living children: Mrs. Richard Parr, Mr. Fred Klahn, and Mrs. A. G. Meier all of Clinton; Mr. Arthur Klahn of Cedar Rapids, Walter and Dora of Wheatland.

They have 12 grand children: Mrs. Eileen Foltz, Perham, Minnesota; Mrs. Gladys Hassler, Spirit Lake, Idaho; Mrs. Russell Cook, William Klahn, Lewis Klahn, Sylvan Meier, and Mrs. Florence Murphy, all of Clinton; Irma Mae Klahn, Cedar Rapids; Darlene Joan Klahn, Cedar Rapids, Junior Klahn and Lois Nadene Klahn of Wheatland.
