Will of William Findly Brackenridge
The following is the Record of the last Will and Testament of William Findly Brackenridge of Franklin Co. Pennsylvania.
In the name of God, Amen. I William Findly Brackenridge of South Hampton Township, Franklin County Pennsylvania do hereby make and declare this to be my last will and Testament (to write). BG
In the first place I will that all my last debts be paid by my Executrix and my Executor herein after named and this purpose I hereby authorize my Executrix and Executor hereinafter named to sell the tract of land on which my Mill is erected with the tenements, hereto axxxxx and oxxxx hereto belonging. I also authorize and empower them to sell my xxxxxx Land farm adjoining lands of John Berlasok Killinger Lindsey and others containing One hundred and five acres more or xx with all the xxxxx xxxx xxxx. ,my Executrix and Executor hereinafter named are to have authority to sell said tract of land at either public or private sale and to make deed or deeds for the same to the purchases or purchaser thereof.
To my niece Amanda Findly Brackenridge Colwell I bequeath five hundred dollars to be paid to her when she arrives at the age of twenty one years and if she dies before said time said legacy is to remain in my Estate and not to be paid out of the same.
To William Findly Brackenridge Culbison, son of John Culbison of Iowa I bequeath five hundred dollars to be paid to him when he arrives at twenty one years of age, and if he dies before said time, said legacy is to remain in my estate and is not to be paid out of the same.
To my hired girl Mary Jane Grinnison I bequeath for her kind attention to me, one hundred dollars to be paid to her after my debts are paid.
And all of the rest and xxxxof my estate xxxx and mixed in Pennsylvania, Iowa or xxxx I desire and bequeath to my beloved wife Rebecca Jane Brackenridge , her heirs and xxxx all of my real estate xxxx to my said wife is to be subject to the payment of xxxxx herein before mentioned to Amanda F. B. Colwell and William R. B. Culbutson of said xxxx have to be paid by said xxxx respectively attaining the age of twenty on e years and also the xxxxx of Mary Jane Grissison herein before named. It is my will further that if my Executrix or Executor hereinafter mentioned or xx of them should die and my will cease executor that such Executor or none of them shall have power to xxx or do anything in or about my estate or any executor.
If the Real Estate I have authorized and empowered my executors to sell should not be sufficient to pay my debts than in that case my will is that as much of my personal estate as is Iowa as may be necessary shall be sold for said purposes.
I hereby revoke all former wills made by me and declare this and no others to be my last will and testament.
And I hereby nominate my beloved wife Rebecca Jane Brakenridge to be the Executix and my friend John O. Egen and John Culbutson of Iowa to be Executors of this my last will and testament, the said Rebecca Jane Brackenridge and John Orr are to have full xxx and authority to sell the Real Estate heretofore directed to be sold and corxxxxx and to settle up my Estate in Pennsylvania. John Culbutson is to have no control over my Estate in Pennsylvania, but he is to act with my said wife and John Orr in settling up that part of my Estate which is in Iowa, and I appoint my friend James Nill as advisory Council in settling up my Estate.
