I P. A. Gohlman(n) being of sound mind and memory and of lawful age do make these my last Will and Testament as follows:

First – I direct the payment of all my just and legal debts.

Second – I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth M. Gohlmann all my estate both real and personal of whatever nature and wherever situated to be her property absolutely with full power to dispose of the same as fully as I might do were I living.

Third – Should I be engaged in the business of General Merchandise (as I am now engaged) at my death I hereby authorize my said wife as executrix as hereinafter named to continue the said business until such time as she may consider it advisable to close the same up.

Lastly – I hereby appoint and constitute my wife Elizabeth M. Gohlmann executrix of this my last will and testament and exempt her from giving bonds as such executrix.

On this 5th day of October 1888 the foregoing instrument was in our presence signed and executed by P. A. Gohlmann and at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other we here subscribed our names as witnesses thereto;

I William Kreim, clerk of the District Court in and for said County do hereby certify that on this day at the Sept. Term A. D. 1888 of said Court the will and instrument in writing hereunto annexed and bearing date in the 5th day of Oct.1888 was duly proved before and allowed by said court as and for the last will and testament of the real and personal estate of P. A. Gohlmann late of said County deceased and was by said Court ordered to be recorded as such will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto at my hand and affixed the seal of the court at my office in Clinton in said County this 30th day of Oct. A. D. 1888.
