The Clinton Herald Friday August 19, 1938 p. 7 Opening the whirl of social courtesies for Miss Frances Kershner, who is to wed Robert E. Bickelhaupt Sept. 5, was a charming afternoon tea given yesterday by Mrs. F.W. Dana and daughter, Miss Charlotte Dana, in their Fifth avenue home. Guests included a company of thirty mothers and daughters. Three generations of the bride-to-be's family were present. During the afternoon, Miss Kershner was showered with lovely personal gifts. Little Miss Gloria Justis, gowned in petal pink moiré taffeta, made the presentations. The tea table was exquisite with its floral appointments. Delicate California asters, mingling with sprays of green foliage bedecked the old-fashioned Victorian dome in which was enclosed a miniature bride and bridegroom. The color scheme of willow green and orchid was displayed throughout the rooms of the home. There were special corsages for two other brides-to-be, Miss Elizabeth Kershner and Miss Sally Newton of Evanston, Ill.
