The Clinton Herald Monday July 21, 1952 p. 10 DeWitt - A family gathering was held Thursday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. M.J. Kearney in DeWitt, with five or six sisters present. The group included Mrs. Kearney, Mrs. Maurice Burkhart, Indianapolis, Ind., who is visiting relatives in this area, Mrs. Clarence Miller and Miss Nellie Boyle, Davenport, and Mrs. C.J. St. Onge, East Moline, Ill. The sixth, Mrs. James McManus, Davenport, was unable to attend the reunion because of illness. Although the meeting for the five was a happy occasion, a tragic aftermath was the death of one of the group's husband, C.J. St. Onge, who was found dead at his home in East Moline by his wife when she returned from DeWitt. He had apparently suffered a heart attack early in the evening. Funeral services were held this Monday morning at St. Anne's church in East Moline with Mr. and Mrs. M.J. Kearney among those from DeWitt, who attended. Mrs. St. Onge, the former Clare Boyle, survives; also a son.
