The Lyons Mirror Saturday March 3, 1877 A week ago, about four hundred of his fellow citizens addressed to Mr. Moeszinger a request that he allow his name to be used as a candidate for Mayor, to which he thus responded: To the citizens of Lyons who have, irrespective of party, in their written communication so numerously signed, solicited me to consent that my name be used as a candidate for the office of Mayor, I wish to say that I highly appreciate this generous expression of confidence, and I comply with their request; and if placed in that respectable and honorable position I will cooperate as far as able to advance the prosperity of our city. Very respectfully, your fellow citizen, C. Moeszinger. No one stands higher as a business man and citizen than Mr. Moeszinger, and general satisfaction is expressed at his candicacy to ratify which, and nominate other candidates, a caucus was called for last evening.
