Fireman Tracy, who has recently been promoted to hostler at the C. & N. W. round house in this city, has a remarkable record to show for his nine and one-fourth years run on the Midland between Clinton and Anamosa, on Engine 51. The run averaged 142 miles per day, Sundays excepted, for the year and during the nine and one-fourth years Mr. Tracy has traveled of 411,125 and 1/2 miles, or a distance around the world sixteen times. During this period he has tossed about 8,686 tons of black diamond into the furnace.
