A Fatal Accident

Wednesday afternoon about 5:45, an employee of C. Lamb & Sons, met with an accident which is believed killed him instantly. Mr. Claus Husinga, for such is the name of the unfortunate man, was employed on the slab wood chain. The chain had stopped by being obstructed by some manner and it is supposed that he attempted to remove the obstruction, the bar which was probably used as a pry caught the chain which started suddenly in such a manner as to strike him forcibly and consigned him to the mercy of the moving chain and it was in the position the body was found. The chain had to be severed to extract the body, owing to the manner in which it was wedged in. A coroner’ jury was empaneled by R. S. Seaman, J. P., consisting of Messrs. James A. Greenhill, David Carlton and James Skewes, who heard the evidence and rendered their verdict as follows:

STATE OF IOWA,
CLINTON CO.
