The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, June 15, 1883

Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Taylor were thrown in paroxysms of grief by the drowning of their little son, Charlie, which occurred Wednesday evening, as he and some comrades were playing on logs in the river. Alarm was at one given and in a few moments search was made for the unfortunate boy. Every sincere search had been prosecuted, and the searchers had been relieved by others, but up to the time of going to press the body had not been recovered. The deeply bereaved family has the sympathy of the entire community.
