The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 14, 1876
Escaped – Jas. Rooney, arrested for drunkness, but who has a well-known reputation for vagrancy, broke his chain and escaped from the calaboose yard on Monday, and “put” across in Illinois. He had been given ten days on the stone pile.
