The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 14, 1876

Narrow Escape – A kerosene lamp exploded at the residence of Mrs. C. E. Sperry, in Lyons, one night last week, coercing his mother with oil and flames and threatened a conflagration. The fire was extinguished without much damage and no injury to person.
