The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, May 8, 1874

Launched – The good steamer Lafayette, built by C. Lamb & Sons, was launched on Tuesday afternoon of this week. It is a beautiful little craft and will be one of the gayest raft boats of the C. Lamb & Sons’ fleet. When the machinery is put in, and the work a little further on, we will give are readers a full description of the Lafayette. She is being built under the Superintendency of that master workman, Mr. J. C. Morgan.
