Will He! – It is said now that Mr. S. Van Sant, of Le Claire, will run his boat, the McDonald, between Clinton and Rock Island this season, to connect the river railroads with the R., R. I. & St. L., road, and that Capt. Jarvis will probably establish a line between Davenport and Burlington.

Capt. Jarvis has been put down so many times as going to run a boat between this city and Rock Island, and has not come to time, that we are glad to know he is going to run somewhere. Whether Mr. Van Sant will do any better, time will tell. We very much doubt whether a boat between this city and Rock Island could be made to pay. The Line Packets will run so regular this summer that we are inclined to think they will fill the bill; though Clinton will give all the encouragement possible to the gay little steamer McDonald.
